Book Exhilarating - Cassette Boring

Reviewed on 6/5/09 at 12:19 AM.

Jack Kerouac's On the Road is a work of delightful honesty; he's everyman heading out on the road. David Carradine's reading of it on the Audiobook version is boring in the extreme and will only make you wonder what all the fuss is about. Carradine should have stuck to Kung Foo. The BBC Radio 4 Book at Bedtime reading by Toby Stephens was much more exciting and in keeping with how Kerouac would have read it himself, is there any chance of a tape of that being released?

don't listen to that..."guy" or whatever it is down there

This is a lovingly read book. David does a fine job, and this person wouldn't know it if it happened to them.
