    I requested this from the library immediately after seeing the movie. The movie was very good, and am I glad to have read the book, as well. Jean-Dominique Bauby was the Editor-in-Chief of Elle magazine, until he suffered a massive struck that completely paralized him. The only way he can communicate is to blink his left eye. His speech therapist comes up with a unique way for him to spell out words simply by blinking, and that is how he wrote this book. I highly recommend both the book and the movie.
